During a high-level meeting on the sidelines of the BRICS Summit in Brazil, Vietnam and China agreed to deepen bilateral trade and investment cooperation. The discussion came shortly after U.S. President Donald Trump announced a 20% tariff on Vietnamese exports and a 40% duty on transshipped goods via Vietnam, prompting Vietnam to secure stronger regional economic ties.
