  • An awareness programme on the National Action for Mechanized Sanitation Ecosystem (NAMASTE) will be organised on 26 February 2026 at Gandhi Prekshagrih, Pilibhit, Uttar Pradesh. The initiative aims to promote safety, dignity and social security for Sewer and Septic Tank Workers and waste pickers. PPE kits and Ayushman Cards under Ayushman Bharat will be distributed to enhance occupational safety and healthcare access.
  • Trained beneficiaries will also receive sewing machines for alternative livelihoods. The scheme focuses on mechanising sanitation work, eliminating manual scavenging and ensuring financial inclusion, reflecting the government’s commitment to inclusive and dignified development.
