  • Amidst geopolitical tensions in West Asia and disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz, India has launched the RELIEF (Resilience & Logistics Intervention for Export Facilitation) scheme. With a budget of ₹497 crore, the initiative addresses skyrocketing freight and insurance costs.
  • The scheme, implemented by ECGC Ltd, provides up to 100% additional risk coverage for existing shipments and 95% for new ones. Furthermore, MSME exporters can receive up to 50% reimbursement on freight surcharges. This targeted intervention aims to maintain the competitiveness of Indian exports and prevent order cancellations during maritime logistics crises.
