Tamil Nadu has secured the top spot in India’s textile exports, surpassing traditional hubs like Gujarat and Maharashtra. Reaching $7.99 billion in exports, the state now contributes nearly 22% of India’s total textile trade. This 29% growth over four years is attributed to robust infrastructure, a skilled workforce, and supportive government policies focused on value-added products.
By concentrating on innovation and strong supply chains, Tamil Nadu has established a competitive advantage in the global market. The state’s performance is a cornerstone of India’s overall $36.6 billion textile export economy.
