  • A S Rajeev, the former Managing Director & CEO of Bank of Maharashtra, has been appointed as the Vigilance Commissioner in the Central Vigilance Commission (CVC) by President Droupadi Murmu.
  • Rajeev's appointment comes after he voluntarily opted to retire from his position at Bank of Maharashtra last week, a decision that was accepted by the competent authority as per a Department of Financial Services (DFS) letter.
  • The Central Vigilance Commission, established under the CVC Act, now operates as a three-member body, with Praveen Kumar Srivastava serving as the Central Vigilance Commissioner since May 2023 and Arvinda Kumar as a Vigilance Commissioner since August 2022.
