The world's largest national flag made of Khadi will be hoisted on a hilltop near the Army War Museum in Jaisalmer district of Rajasthan to commemorate 75 years of independence of the country.
A 225 feet long and 150 feet wide flag which weighs about 1000 kg will be hoisted on Army Day on 15 January. This flag is made by Khadi Village Industries.
It is noteworthy that earlier on October 2, 2021, on the occasion of 152nd birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, the world’s largest national flag made of Khadi cloth was unfurled in Leh, Ladakh, which weighed 1400 kg and was 225 feet long and 150 feet wide.
During this, Leh’s Lieutenant Governor RK Mathur and Army Chief General Manoj Mukund Naravane were also present.
It is known that to honor the bravery of the Indian Army, Army Day is celebrated every year on 15 January in the country. This year 74th Army Day is being celebrated. On Army Day, the valor of the Indian Army, the indomitable courage of the army and the sacrifice of the army for the country are remembered.
