The Atal Innovation Mission (AIM) under NITI Aayog has launched Tripura’s first State Innovation Mission (SIM), embedding innovation and entrepreneurship into the State’s long-term development strategy. The launch at Hapania International Exhibition Centre, Agartala, was attended by Chief Minister Prof. Manik Saha, AIM Vice Chairman Suman Bery, Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh, and NITI Aayog Member Dr V.K. Saraswat.
Under SIM, the Tripura Institution for Transformation (TIFT) will institutionalise the mission, alongside T-NEST, a dedicated incubation hub promoting startups and “Make from Tripura” initiatives. Innovation Centres across eight districts will foster entrepreneurship among women and tribal communities.
Tripura has also introduced the District Innovator Fellowship to nurture grassroots innovators and announced plans for an AI Policy and AI City in Agartala. AIM will collaborate with the State to expand innovation education, mentorship, funding, and infrastructure, aligning with the national vision of Viksit Bharat 2047 and promoting balanced, inclusive, and innovation-led growth.
