Bohag Bihu, also known as Rongali Bihu, the Assamese New Year and spring festival, began on April 14, 2026.
It will be celebrated with great enthusiasm from April 14 to April 20, 2026, across Assam.
Key days include Goru Bihu (cattle worship), Manuh Bihu (new clothes & blessings), and Gosai Bihu (deity worship).
The festival marks agricultural renewal, fertility, and community bonding with Bihu dance, music, and feasts.
