  • Tata Boeing Aerospace Limited (TBAL) has delivered the first fuselage for six AH-64 Apache attack helicopters ordered by the Indian Army.
  • The fuselage was produced at TBAL's production facility in Hyderabad.
  • Boeing had completed the deliveries of all 22 AH-64E Apache helicopters to the Indian Air Force in 2020.
  • Tata Group recently won the 'Supplier of the year' award 2022 from Boeing, from among more than 11,000 suppliers worldwide.

Features of Boeing AH-64 Apache:

  1. The Boeing AH-64 Apache is an American twin-turboshaft attack helicopter with a tailwheel-type landing gear arrangement and a tandem cockpit for a crew of two. 
  2. It features a nose-mounted sensor suite for target acquisition and night vision systems.
  3. It is armed with a 30 mm M230 chain gun.
  4. It is typically a mixture of AGM-114 Hellfire missiles and Hydra 70 rocket pods.
