  • India's star female tennis player Sania Mirza has announced her retirement. Sonia, who arrived to play the Australian Open, said that 2022 would be her last season.
  • 35-year-old Sania is India's biggest female tennis star. He started his professional career in tennis in 2003. For the last 19 years, she has been playing tennis continuously and has also led India to victory in many international tournaments.
  • 35-year-old Mirza is the first Indian to win a WTA singles title in 2005.
  • She has also won two Grand Slam titles with partner Mahesh Bhupathi - the 2009 Australian Open mixed doubles title and the French Open 2012 mixed doubles.
  • Sania Mirza has won 6 Grand Slams so far.
