Neil Nongkynrih, the founder of Shillong Chamber Choir has passed away in Mumbai.
Neil Nongkinrih was a concert pianist from Shillong, Meghalaya, and the founder, patron of the Shillong Chamber Choir, Who also won the 2010 reality show ‘India's Got Talent.
Nongkynrih was awarded Padma Shri, the fourth highest civilian award of India in 2015.
In addition to the Padma Shri, Nongkinrih has also received the Yu Tirot Sing Award in 2011, and the Forbes Person of the Year for 2010–11, and has served as a member of the World Choir Council.
He was also a member of the Central Board of Film Certification from 2017 till his death.
