  • Neil Nongkynrih, the founder of Shillong Chamber Choir has passed away in Mumbai.
  • Neil Nongkinrih was a concert pianist from Shillong, Meghalaya, and the founder, patron of the Shillong Chamber Choir, Who also won the 2010 reality show ‘India's Got Talent.
  • Nongkynrih was awarded Padma Shri, the fourth highest civilian award of India in 2015.
  • In addition to the Padma Shri, Nongkinrih has also received the Yu Tirot Sing Award in 2011, and the Forbes Person of the Year for 2010–11, and has served as a member of the World Choir Council.
  • He was also a member of the Central Board of Film Certification from 2017 till his death.
