Renowned filmmaker Shaji N. Karun has been selected for the 2023 JC Daniel Award in recognition of his outstanding contributions to Malayalam cinema.
The JC Daniel Award, the highest honor in Malayalam cinema established by the state government, includes a cash prize of 5 lakh rupees, a certificate of appreciation, and a statuette.
Shaji N. Karun received the 2023 JC Daniel Award as the highest film honor from the Kerala government, acknowledging his lifelong contributions to Malayalam cinema.
This award is the Kerala government's top film recognition, given for lifelong contributions to the state’s film industry.
