  • Vipin Kumar, a 1996 batch IAS officer of Bihar cadre, took over as the chairman of the Airports Authority of India (AAI) on Monday. 
  • Kumar was earlier Additional Secretary in the Department of School Education and Literacy, Ministry of Education. 
  • During his appointment in Bihar, he worked as District Magistrate in several districts of the state. 
  • He was also the Chairman of Bihar Bridge Construction Corporation, Managing Director of Bihar Milk Cooperative Union (SUDHA) and Director of Mid-Day Scheme-Bihar.
