The International Day of the Unborn Child is observed on March 25 to promote awareness about the dignity of life before birth. Initiated by Pope John Paul II, the day coincides with the Feast of the Annunciation.
First recognised by El Salvador in 1993, it is now observed in several countries. The day encourages discussions on ethics, human rights, and family values. While widely supported in religious communities, it also sparks debates on reproductive rights, reflecting differing global perspectives on life, dignity, and moral responsibility.
