  • Renowned Gandhian thinker and Padma Shri awardee Dr SN Subbarao passed away on Wednesday morning. Subbarao, who was originally associated with Bangalore, got the famous dacoits surrendered in 1972.
  • He ran the first Gandhi Ashram in 1954 in Jaura village of Chambal, notorious for rebels, for 10 months. 
  • Through this ashram, he got the infamous dacoits Mohan Singh, Madho Singh and more than six hundred dacoits surrendered in 1972.
