Renowned Gandhian thinker and Padma Shri awardee Dr SN Subbarao passed away on Wednesday morning. Subbarao, who was originally associated with Bangalore, got the famous dacoits surrendered in 1972.
He ran the first Gandhi Ashram in 1954 in Jaura village of Chambal, notorious for rebels, for 10 months.
Through this ashram, he got the infamous dacoits Mohan Singh, Madho Singh and more than six hundred dacoits surrendered in 1972.
