  • Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated four Compressed Bio-Gas (CBG) plants in Assam, which are being set up on the occasion of Swachh India Day, and are located in Guwahati, Jorhat, Sivasagar, and Tinsukia; Oil India Ltd is planning to set up a total of 25 CBG plants by 2024-25.
  • These CBG plants will process 125 tonnes of solid city waste every day, producing approximately 2 tonnes of CBG.
