  • Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Spanish counterpart Pedro Sanchez jointly inaugurated the Tata Aircraft Complex in Vadodara for manufacture of C-295 military aircraft.
  • The plant has been set up by Tata Advanced Systems in collaboration with Airbus Spain. The facility has been built at the Tata Advanced Systems Limited (TASL) campus. 
  • There are a total of 56 aircraft under the C-295 program, of which 16 are being delivered directly by Airbus from Spain and the remaining 40 are to be built in India. The responsibility of making these 40 aircraft in India is of Tata Advanced Systems Limited.
  • Apart from Tata, major defense public sector units such as India Electronics Limited and India Dynamics Limited, as well as private micro, small and medium enterprises, will contribute to this program.
