Prime Minister Narendra Modi released the 22nd installment of the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme from Guwahati, Assam, transferring ₹2,000 directly to over 9 crore farmer families via the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system. Total funds disbursed exceeded ₹18,600 crore.
Launched in February 2019, the scheme provides ₹6,000 annually in three installments. Farmers must complete e-KYC and link Aadhaar with their bank accounts to receive payments. Ineligible categories include income taxpayers, government employees, and institutional landholders.
