Netflix's "KPop Demon Hunters," directed by Korean-Canadian filmmaker Maggie Kang, won the Best Animated Feature award at the 98th Academy Awards held at the Dolby Theatre, Los Angeles. The film follows a K-pop girl group secretly operating as demon hunters.
It had previously won Golden Globe and Critics Choice Awards. Kang dedicated the victory to Korea and Korean communities globally, underscoring the rising influence of Asian creators in mainstream international cinema.
