  • The National Productivity Council (NPC) has been designated as the Environment Audit Designated Agency by the Ministry of Environment. Established in 1958, NPC works under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry to promote productivity and efficiency. In its new role, NPC will audit environmental compliance and support sustainable industrial practices.
  • It will evaluate processes, provide consultancy, and encourage eco-friendly methods. The move aims to enhance transparency and accountability in environmental governance. It also aligns industrial growth with sustainability goals, strengthening India’s commitment to balancing economic development with environmental protection.
