Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) has been awarded the Governance Now 12th PSU National Award for "Excellence in Innovation" for its accessibility initiative "Dhwani Spandana."
The system provides audio-based onboard bus identification and navigation assistance for visually impaired passengers, enhancing their independent mobility.
Implemented across 200 Mysuru City Transport buses with technical support from GIZ Germany, the initiative promotes inclusive urban transport by reducing disabled commuters' dependence on others while ensuring safer, more confident travel.
