Veteran actor and Makkal Needhi Maiam (MNM) president Kamal Haasan officially began his legislative journey on Friday as he was sworn in as a Member of Parliament in the Rajya Sabha. Elected unopposed in June 2025 with the backing of the DMK-led alliance, Haasan took his oath in Tamil. The 70-year-old launched his political party MNM in 2018 and is making his first entry into Parliament.
