The Geological Survey of India has designated the Kalinjar Fort region in Uttar Pradesh as a National Geo-Heritage Site. The area features the rare Eparchaean Unconformity, where 2.5-billion-year-old granite meets 1.2-billion-year-old sandstone. This recognition highlights the link between the fort's strategic military architecture and its unique geology, aiming to boost scientific study and tourism in the Bundelkhand circuit.
