  • The Indian Naval Sailing Vessel (INSV) Kaundinya will be flagged into Mumbai Harbour on 02 Mar 2026 by Raksha Rajya Mantri Shri Sanjay Seth, marking the successful completion of her maiden overseas voyage to Oman and return across the Arabian Sea.
  • Built using traditional Indian stitching techniques with coir ropes and natural resins, the vessel revives centuries-old maritime craftsmanship. Conceptualised from a 5th-century Ajanta Caves depiction, INSV Kaundinya combines ancient design with modern naval engineering.
  • Departing Porbandar in Dec 2025, she reached Muscat in Jan 2026, strengthening India–Oman maritime linkages and showcasing cultural diplomacy. The voyage highlights the Indian Navy’s role in preserving India’s seafaring legacy.
