  • The Henley Passport Index for the first quarter of 2022 has been updated, showed an improvement for Indian passport-holders. Compared to 2021, India’s passport now ranks at 83rd position in the Henley Passport Index, climbing seven places from 90th in 2021.
  • The current rankings show the strength of passports for the first quarter of 2022. 
  • India is behind Rwanda and Uganda, and jointly shares the position with the African island nation, Sao Tome and Principe.
  • Henley Passport Index rankings are based on data provided by the International Air Transport Authority (IATA).
