  • The Corps expanded over time and took part in overseas operations during World War I.
  • In the year 1923, it was named Indian Army Service Corps (IASC).
  • In the year 1935 permission was given to use the prefix 'Royal' and it became the core RIASC.
  • For the first time, Corps Day was celebrated on 8 December 1952.
  • The word 'Royal' was dropped from the nomenclature of the Army Service Corps on 8 December 1950.
