  • The first edition of the event took place in 1932.
  • This day commemorates the formation of the Indian Air Force (IAF) to aid the army fighting on the ground. 
  • The day also aims to raise awareness of the Indian Air Force, also known as the 'Bhartiya Vayu Sena,' as an organisation dedicated to strengthening national security and authority.
