At an international mining conference in Hyderabad, India unveiled its Aluminium Vision 2047 and Copper Vision 2047, aiming to scale aluminium output sixfold and boost copper demand similarly by 2047. The copper plan also targets an additional 5 million tonnes of smelting and refining capacity by 2030. Coal & Mines Minister G. Kishan Reddy highlighted these as foundational for establishing India as a globally competitive and eco-conscious metals industry under the Viksit Bharat mission.
