  • According to the Hurun Global Unicorn Index 2024, the pace of unicorn startups in India has slowed down after 2017. This report describes India as the third largest unicorn center in the world.
  • The Hurun Global Unicorn Index has been published since 2000 and only includes startups that have a valuation of at least USD 1 billion and are not listed on any stock exchanges. According to Hurun Research, there are a total of 1,453 unicorns located in 291 cities in 53 countries globally. According to the report, a unicorn is formed every two minutes in the world.

  • India had 67 unicorns in 2022, which decreased by one in 2023.
