  • Himachal Pradesh has become the country's first LPG-enabled and smoke-free state as a result of the Center's Ujjwala scheme and the state government's Grihini Suvidha Yojana.
  • The Ujjwala scheme was launched by the Centre government to combat the diseases caused by smoking. In addition, the Himachal government launched the Grihini Suvidha Yojana in order to benefit an increasing number of women through the scheme.
  • The government implemented the Ujjwala scheme to combat smoke pollution.
  • Mukhyamantri Grihini Suvidha Yojana was launched on 26 May 2018.
  • The objective of launching Mukhyamantri Grihini Suvidha Yojna was to provide free gas connections to those families which were not covered under the Centre's Ujjwala scheme.
