· Harmilan Kaur Bains of Punjab created a new national record in the women's 1500m race with a timing of 4:05.39 at the 60th National Open Athletics Championships at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Hanamkonda, Telangana.
· With this feat, the 23-year-old has broken the 19-year-old record set by Sunita Rani in 1500 meters at the 2002 Asian Games in Busan with a timing of 4:06.03.
