  • India's leading stock exchnage BSE announced that it has appointed Sundararaman Ramamurthy as the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (CEO), effective January 4, 2023.
  • The new MD and CEO's appointment has been announced by the BSE after market regulator Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) approved the proposal.
  • Ramamurthy has worked for over 20 years at NSE.
  • The top position at the bourse has been vacant since July after Ashishkumar Chauhan resigned to join the National Stock Exchange (NSE).
  • Chauhan was appointed as MD and CEO of the NSE in July itself.
