  • The Mumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has become the first municipal body in the country to make about 80 services available to its citizens on WhatsApp. With this, now the people of Mumbai will not have to make the rounds of doing BMC.
  • Under the new e-governance programme BMC plans to provide over 80 services and facilities to citizens on their mobiles through WhatsApp number 8999228999. 
  • The new service will be available in English and Marathi, 24/7.
  • The chief minister said that this initiative has made the work-from-home facility even more efficient.
