Ajay Seth has been appointed Chairman of the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI), succeeding Debasish Panda whose term ended in March 2025. His three-year term (or until age 65) was approved by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet following a recommendation from the Financial Sector Regulatory Appointments Search Committee. Seth is expected to drive regulatory reforms and consumer protection in the insurance sector.
