V.S. Achuthanandan, a towering figure in Kerala politics and a symbol of the communist movement, died at 101 in Thiruvananthapuram. He was hospitalised on June 23 following cardiac arrest and had earlier stepped down as Chairman of the Administrative Reforms Committee in 2021.
