  • South Africa announced the creation of an innovative new Trusted Tour Operator Scheme (TTOS), the initial focus of which will be on the emerging tourism markets of India and China.
  • The scheme, to come into effect from January 2025, will reform the visa system and "boost" job creation in the tourism sector.
  • TTOS will remove some of the major obstacles in South Africa's path to becoming a preferred tourist destination for the world's second and fifth-largest economies.
