On 30th September 2025, Praveer Ranjan, a 1993-batch AGMUT cadre IPS officer, assumed the role of Director General of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF). Previously serving as Special DG in CISF and heading airport security, Ranjan brings over 32 years of experience, including key positions in Delhi Police’s Crime Branch, CBI as DIG, and as Chandigarh Police Commissioner. He holds a Master’s in History from Delhi University and degrees in Police and Public Management from Osmania and Harvard Universities, emphasizing modernization, transparency and sensitivity in administration.
