Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the new terminal building of Lokapriya Gopinath Bardoloi International Airport in Guwahati, Assam, along with unveiling an 80-foot statue of Assam’s first Chief Minister. Spread over 1.4 lakh square meters, the terminal can handle 1.3 crore passengers annually. Designed around the “Bamboo Orchids” theme, it reflects Assam’s biodiversity and cultural heritage. The modern facility enhances regional connectivity, tourism, and economic growth, positioning Guwahati as a key aviation hub in Northeast India.
