Numaligarh Refinery Limited (NRL), located in Golaghat district, Assam, has been granted Navratna status, becoming the 27th Central Public Sector Enterprise (CPSE) to receive this recognition. With a capacity of 3 million metric tonnes per annum (MMTPA) and an annual turnover of ₹25,147 crore with net profits of ₹1,608 crore for FY 2024-25, NRL joins other top-performing PSUs. Navratna status provides greater operational autonomy and decision-making power. PSUs in India are categorized as Miniratna, Navratna, and Maharatna based on performance and eligibility criteria.
