Ministry of Minority Affairs signed an MoU with IIT Palakkad for a skilling project under the Pradhan Mantri Virasat Ka Samvardhan (PM VIKAS) scheme at Palakkad, Kerala. The initiative aims to empower minority communities in Kerala with future-ready technical skills in emerging domains. IIT Palakkad will train 400 candidates, 150 each as Junior Chip Designers and Embedded Software Engineers, and 100 as Junior Engineers (Drone R&D). The Ministry will bear the entire training cost, provide stipends, and offer placement support. The event was attended by Minister of State Shri George Kurian, who highlighted PM VIKAS as a flagship initiative enhancing employability, innovation, and sustainable livelihoods for minority communities.
