  • A total of 6,38,365 villages have been identified under the Mera Gaon Meri Dharohar (MGMD) programme for cultural mapping, out of which data for 6,23,449 villages has already been uploaded on the MGMD portal.
  • The programme documents a wide range of tangible and intangible cultural aspects—oral traditions, beliefs, customs, historical relevance, art forms, heritage sites, food traditions, famous artists, festivals, attire, ornaments, and local landmarks.
  • MGMD aims to strengthen rural identity by preparing authentic cultural profiles for each village, highlighting local traditions and heritage assets.
