Lando Norris secured his first Formula One world championship title in Abu Dhabi on December 7, 2025, ending Max Verstappen’s four-year streak.
Finishing third in the final race—behind Verstappen and fellow contender Oscar Piastri—gave him the championship by a margin of two points.
Norris is the first British world champion since Lewis Hamilton in 2020, delivering McLaren its 13th drivers’ title and its first since 1974, when Emerson Fittipaldi won.
