Kuwait has signed a $4.1 billion agreement with China to complete the Mubarak Al-Kabeer Port on Boubyan Island. The port, costing 1.28 billion Kuwaiti dinars, aims to diversify Kuwait’s oil-dependent economy and strengthen its role in global trade and logistics. The project is part of China’s Belt and Road Initiative and is expected to serve as a major maritime hub connecting the Gulf with international trade routes, reflecting deepening Kuwait–China economic cooperation.
