· Recently, the latest addition to the list of GI tag is the “Judima rice wine” from Assam after Manipur's most famous Hathy chili and Tamenglong orange were awarded the Geographical tag.
· "Judima" is a rice wine made from glutinous rice, which is then steamed and mixed with traditional herbs.
· This liquor is a special dish of the 'Dimasa tribe' of the state, which is sweet in taste and takes about a week to prepare after which it can be stored for years.
· Geographical tag, also known as GI tag, is given to products that have a distinctive place of origin and have a reputation due to their geographical origin.
