India has signed its first-ever structured one-year deal to import 2.2 MTPA of LPG from the US Gulf Coast in 2026, nearly 10% of its annual LPG imports. Indian Oil, BPCL and HPCL will buy LPG from major US suppliers like Chevron and Phillips 66, using Mount Belvieu as the pricing benchmark. The move diversifies India’s sources beyond West Asia, strengthens Indo-US economic ties and boosts energy security for households, including Ujjwala beneficiaries.
