India and Maldives have commenced the 14th edition of their annual military exercise Ekuverin in Thiruvananthapuram, scheduled from 2 to 15 December 2025. Meaning “friends” in Dhivehi, the exercise strengthens decades-old defence cooperation and focuses on counterinsurgency and counterterror operations across jungle, semi-urban and coastal terrain. Troops from both sides will undertake coordinated drills, share operational best practices and employ modern defence technologies to enhance interoperability.
