India unveiled its National Red List Roadmap and Vision 2025–2030 at the IUCN World Conservation Congress 2025 in Abu Dhabi, marking a major step in biodiversity conservation. Launched by Union Minister of State for Environment, Forest, and Climate Change Kirti Vardhan Singh, the initiative aims to create a science-based, nationally coordinated framework to assess and monitor India’s flora and fauna. Prepared by the Zoological Survey of India and Botanical Survey of India in collaboration with IUCN India, it will guide conservation strategies, identify endangered species, and publish National Red Data Books by 2030.
