India has achieved a major milestone in semiconductor self-reliance with the launch of DHRUV64, the country’s first indigenous 1.0 GHz, 64-bit dual-core microprocessor, developed by C-DAC under the Microprocessor Development Programme. Based on RISC-V open architecture, DHRUV64 supports strategic and commercial applications such as 5G, IoT, and industrial automation. The processor strengthens India’s domestic chip ecosystem and advances the vision of Aatmanirbhar Bharat in advanced electronics and computing technologies.
