India has emerged as the world’s largest and most active market for large language model (LLM) adoption, according to a Bank of America analysis. The country leads globally in users of AI apps like ChatGPT, Gemini, and Perplexity, driven by affordable data, a massive internet base, and a young, tech-savvy population. Support from telecom companies and availability of AI in Indian languages are accelerating adoption, positioning India as a key testing ground for next-generation agentic AI.
